So I just accidentally took down the main shared folder for the UK, Netherlands and German offices of one of my clients... If anyone needs me, I'll be hiding under my desk with the hip flask my boss keeps in his drawer.

When in doubt, blame a failure of the system. Go on the offensive. Why are robust procedures not in place to prevent an occurrence like this? It's very unfair of your employer to put you in that situation simply because their systems are inadequate.
